Introduced in 2001, the Dot NAME universal top-level extension is the sole TLD meant for personal websites only. These domains can be personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other designations people are famous by. At first, just third-level registrations were allowed, so if you planned to register john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already grabbed 3rd-level domains remained functional.

Through our firm, you can reserve your .NAME domain for a time interval between 1 and 10 years. You will be able to update the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an existing domain to our firm if you take its EPP transfer key from the current registrar firm and we will renew it when the transfer has been completed. There are no special rules on who can buy a dot NAME domain, but in order to keep the concept behind its creation alive, the .NAME Registry may check who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration may be challenged.
